Top Priority

Mission: Distress Call
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: Current

::ON:

Lt. O'Connell was busy at his station checking on the Warp Core, while his people were busy carrying out their individual assignments, when his computer chimed with a message. He went over to the computer terminal to see a what the message said.

Jamie keyed in his code and a message came up on the screen which read: TOP PRIORITY - Please check the "starboard forward sensor array" as soon as possible. It's not within ship's parameters and I want all systems at the ready before we depart if possible. Signed Lt. JG Kevin Lance.

Jamie reread the message to make sure that he understood the request throughly. "Ok, let's see what the problem is with the sensor array" he thought to himself.

"Computer run a level four diagnostic on the starboard forward sensor array for any anomalies" he requested.

"Running a level four diagnostic on the starboard forward sensor array". After a few moments the Computer replied "The starboard forward sensor array is out of alignment by 10.2 microns; redundancy systems are fully operational."

"I can see the urgency for the message, that's misaligned by a lot." Jamie said out loud; knowing that it can only be out of alignment by 2.0 microns or less.

"Computer realign the starboard forward sensor array to 0.05 microns."

"Realigning the starboard forward sensor array to 0.05 microns, this will take several minutes to complete."

While that was being done he finished up the last test on the Warp Core before doing one more check on the Quantum Slipstream Drive; just in case they would need to get away in a hurry.

After several minutes; "Realignment on the starboard forward sensor array completed" the Computer announced.

"Computer run a level four diagnostic on the starboard forward sensor array."

"Running a level four diagnostic on the starboard forward sensor array. Sensor array is at 0.05 microns, well within ship's parameters"

"That'll work" Jamie said to himself. "Now to let Lt Lance know"

Jamie stepped to the terminal; "To Lt. JG Kevin Lance : TOP PRIORITY: The starboard forward sensor array was out of alignment by 10.2 microns and has been realigned to @ 0.05 microns which is well within ship's parameters. Signed Lt. Jamie O'Connell".

Now one final check of the Quantum Slipstream Drive and we're good to go.....
