[[Outside the Diplomat's Atrium]]

"M'bunta, this is Drake," came the Gunnery Sergeant's voice over the communicator, "We are in position, but the Ferengi have blocked the entrance with some cargo containers. We can't enter the Diplomat's Atrium."

Kevin thought for a moment. Seven people was enough for a breach but they hadn't trained together and two of them had probably never ran a breach drill. Kevin indicated to M'Bunta to activate her communicator. "Gunny Drake, can you create a distraction?" Kevin asked.

"The cargo containers have the entry pretty well blocked but we might be able to get a few unaimed shots off," replied Drake.

"Do that in two minutes, then have the computer engage fire suppression in the Atrium but not close the security doors," ordered Kevin, "We'll breach once the haylon has deployed."

"Aye aye, sir," was the reply.

Kevin turned to the Independence crew members. "We breach on my command, sweeping left to right. M'bunta leads, followed by me, the security detail, then you two Commanders covering our flank. Stay in a line, phasers on stun, and drop anything standing." The Independence security team nodded in acknowledgement.

Kevin turned and hugged the wall close behind M'Bunta. A few seconds later, Kevin felt the the security guard behind him tap his shoulder twice and firmly grasp Kevin's shoulder. Kevin did the same to M'bunta, indicating readiness to breach.

120 seconds is a very long time when you are coiled like a spring. Kevin flexed his trigger hand on the phaser stock to prevent cramping as he waited.

Finally, the sound of phaser fire followed by shouts from the Ferengi and the explosive hiss of the fire extinguishers deploying halon gas.

"GO! GO! GO!" shouted Kevin and followed M'Bunta around the corner of the Atrium's entry. He saw Ferengi silhouettes through the haze of halon gas, firing two shots at each as his phaser traverse from left to right.
