"HE SAID WHAT?!" Bobby slammed his beer on the table. "Damn! I didn't think anything could make me miss Neidermeyer."

"I know," Lance Corporal Mike Sahno replied. "Sarge was mad enough to chew neutronium."

Bobby shook his head, raised his beer for a drink, but slammed it on the table again. Hard enough to make it foam. "I thought Hunt was a jerk for treating me like a punk kid, but damn! Dereliction of duty?!"

"Hey, let that one go, man. Sarge doesn't know you yet. Doesn't trust you." Sahno slapped Bobby on the shoulder. "Just do your stuff. You'll be fine."

"Yeah, I guess." Bobby lifted his beverage and finally took a drink. "But, you're not in HQ platoon. I have to be by Martin's side at his beck and call."

Sahno glared. "Knock that crap off! You may have paid more, but we all paid. And, we're going in to combat. Same team, remember?"

Bobby grimaced and nodded. "Got it." Inside, though, he knew he had a huge chip on his shoulder. He was the best spark in the Corps and he had to prove it to a bunch of clowns.
