It's Bridge Time

The Turbolift doors closed. "Bridge" Jamie said and with a whirring sound, he was on his way to the Bridge to meet the XO. The Lift stopped and when the doors slid open he realized that all eyes were on him. "Oh shite" he thought to himself and swallowed away the lump in his throat. " Lieutenant Jamie O'Connell reporting for duty" he managed to get out of his mouth as he was face to face with the XO.

" Welcome to the USS Independence, we've been expecting you" replied Lieutenant Commander Mystery Ellis.

" Thank-you Ma'am, I'm excited to be here." Jamie said, as he had a hard time keeping his eyes on the XO instead of looking around the Bridge at all this great Tech.

" Before I go to Main Engineering, may I take a quick look around the Bridge?" Jamie asked the XO. The XO gave him a nod and he started at the Science Station and slowly made his way around the Bridge until he arrived at the Helm. This was what he really wanted to see. " May I " he asked the Helmsman and the person slid over a little so that he could get a better view of the Control Panel. There it was, what he had been looking for. The controls for the Quantum Slipstream Drive. Even though he had seen it in the ship's specs, he wanted to see the controls for himself.

Now that his curiosity had been satisfied, he made his way to the Turbolift. When the doors closed, they opened right back up. The Chef carrying a tray exited. Jamie had not noticed him when he had entered; probably because he was preoccupied with what he had just seen on the Bridge. He had heard the the Ship had it's own Chef. " Main Engineering " he told the computer and instantly he was on his way to his 'new home'.
