Mission: Distress Call
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: Current

Now the last thing that Jamie wanted to check was the Quantum Slipstream Drive; more precisely the Quantum Matrix Initiator, the Benamite Crystals, and the Graviton Particle Actuators. While he was doing this he would have Ensign T'Sol check the QSD Central Control Matrix; the dedicated computer core for the drive.

"Ensign T'Sol would you come over here please" Jamie asked.

"Yes Lieutenant" he replied as he made his way over to him.

"Would you check the QSD Central Control Matrix for the Slipstream Drive to make sure that it's ready to go in case we need it."

"Right away Lieutenant" was his response.

While the Ensign was checking the Computer Core for the drive Jamie began with his checks as well.

"Computer check the Quantum Matrix Initiator for any anomalies and percent efficiency"

"Checking Quantum Matrix Initiator" the Computer responded "The Quantum Matrix Initiator is well within ship's parameters."

"Computer check the Benamite Crystals for cohesion and percentage of purity"

"Checking the Benamite Crystals" the Computer responded " The Benamite Crystals are within ship's parameters."

"Computer Check the Graviton Particle Actuators for sequence alignment" was Jamie's final request.

"Checking the Graviton Particle Actuators now" the Computer retorted "One of the Actuators is out of sequence by 11.6 Cochrans."

"Good thing I checked, that's not good. That could cause the slipstream to collapse causing the ship to be violently be thrown back into normal space." Jamie thought to himself.

"Computer re-sequence the Actuators to 1.0 Cochrans."

"Re-sequencing the Actuators now" The Computer responded "Re-sequencing complete; the Graviton Particle Actuators are now well within ship's parameters."

"Excellent" Jamie said out loud "Computer recheck the Quantum Slipstream Drive for percent efficiency."

"Re-checking Quantum Slipstream Drive for percent efficiency" the Computer announced " Percent efficiency is now at 99.9 percent well within ship's parameters."

"Ensign T'Sol how does the QSD Quantum Control Matrix check out?" Jamie asked.

"Lieutenant the QSD Matrix is at top efficiency; there will be no problems" T'Sol answered emphatically.

"Good, well done Ensign."

"Thank you, but you would expect nothing less from me."

"It's going to take me some time getting used to that Vulcan logic" Jamie thought to himself.

Now he felt that the Ship was ready for anything; well at least the Engineering Department anyway.
