At the Tactical Console

Kevin overheard the Captain’s orders regarding the away team from his position at the tactical console behind the Captain’s chair. Again, he wondered about the sensibility of ordering the senior officer in charge of the ship’s physical security to an away team but as he had told Lieutenant Kolvitchka, orders were orders. He summoned the Assistant Chief Tactical Officer to the bridge, hoping that Jenkins wasn’t still hungover from his shore leave on Risa.

While waiting for the arrival of his assistant, Kevin rechecked the sensors. The starboard forward sensor array was now properly functioning and the anomaly had disappeared. Satisfied, Kevin considered his load out for the away team. The executive officer would have the final say, but lacking any information about the status of the freighter, environmental suits would not be amiss.

Lieutenant JG Jenkins, the ACTO, arrived on the bridge looking steadier and cleaner than when Kevin had relieved him. After handing over responsibilities to Jenkins, Kevin looked for the science officer.
