Whoever or whatever is controlling this situation was at least nice enough to take down the wall so that Lt. Balrog and Lt. O'Connell could communicate and try to figure things out.

Jamie was still pondering the situation, while rotating the multitool in his hand, when his Comm Badge made a "hissing" sound. He stopped rotating the object and listened for a moment. That sounded like a women's voice.... actually it sounded like Commander Ellis' voice. He tapped his Comm Badge" Lt. O'Connell to Commander Ellis" ; then he waited for a reply, but nothing. After a few more attempts, with the same results, he stopped.

Meanwhile Lt. Balrog was looking at him like he had lost his mind. "I thought that I heard the XO's voice over the Comm" Jamie replied to Brook's strange look,"No really I did!" he continued. "How am I going to communicate with the Independence" was Jamie's all consuming thought. Then it came to him; if we're out of phase then it only stands to reason that our Comms are out of phase as well. So with that notion Jamie took off his Comm Badge and opened the cover and proceeded to make some adjustments using his multitool. "Well I guess today may be the day that this tool does save my life and also Lt. Balrog's as well" he thought.

Moment's later he heard the Commander's voice loud and clear. Lt. Balrog just stood there with his mouth wide open in awe. Jamie once again tapped his Comm "Lt. O'Connell to Commander Ellis." But to his amazement he did not get a reply. "What he hell!" he yelled. Lieutenant Balrog just stood there with a smirk on his face. "Well I tried" was Jamie's answer.

Suddenly something caught Jamie's eye; it was someone or something coming towards them. "Bloody hell, now what" he exclaimed.
