The Second Assistant to the Ways and Means Associate Secretary to Ambassador Baer delivers a PADD to the Ambassador's desk in his quarters on board the USS Independence while nobody was around, ensuring that it would be the first thing that he saw when he returned to his quarters.

The PADD, with the official Policy and Procedures for First Contact, and just happened to be turned to a page that relates to entering into the environmental conditions of the new race, displays in large easy to read script for OAR 581-022-1440 of First Contact, that "On First Contact with a new Species, that a ships Chief Medical officer MUST accompany any crew traveling into the new environment".

Ambassador Baer, upon reading the ordinance, handed the PADD to his First Attaché and said to her, "Handle this."

Janine swallowed hard and immediately contacts Doctor Reylor. <^>Attaché Wyrick to Doctor Relor<^>

Of course, Reylor thinks to himself, as if I don't have anything else to do, like finish my review of this O-D-K crew member. As he is about to respond with a snarky comment, he happens to glance at his tricorder and remembers the task he agreed to, <^>Will do<^>. Turning his examination over to his assistant Medical Officer, he grabs up his tricorder and medical kit and heads to the transporter room to link up with the Captain.
